The first race took place in april 2015. We had 500 participants on the two distances 12km and 21 km. Both races along the Verkeån river. The 21km is the most popular and is sold out quickly.
- A GREEN RACE:
The course runs along a sensitive and nature protected area therefore it was a natural choice to try to make this one of Sweden's most environmental friendly event. We have a very strict environmental policy. There are restrictions on participants for each course. We apply for permission every year at Swedish environmental authorities. It’s a no waste track. For example we do not give away a single plastic cup during the race, this to avoid littering in nature but also to communicate environmental consciousness and the overuse of disposable products. Participants sign a contract and will get disqualified if littering occur. We decided to limit the number of participants to respect the peacefulness within the Verkeån nature reserve and to keep it a fun and familiar event but also.
- A CHALLENGE FOR ALL:
Both the 21km and the 60km race are qualifying races for the UTMB®. Bothe races are challenging but due to a generous "cut-off" time they are still accessible to most runners.
